The cradle of alpine skiing.

The Klostertal Alps and the Arlberg massif right on the doorstep don’t only get the hearts of inveterate athletes beating faster: Easy to challenging hikes in virtually unspoilt nature, diverse ski tours, fabulous descents in powder snow…

Our local mountain, the Sonnenkopf, is just a few minutes away, offering a breathtaking panorama and plenty of sunshine as well as all the amenities of a “family adventure mountain”.

Thanks to the ideal snow conditions, the Sonnenkopf is one of a very small number of ski areas not to rely on artificial snow. It’s a real joy leaving tracks in the snow here.

And don’t forget: The chic winter sport destinations of the Arlberg (St. Christoph, Zürs, Lech) are now also just a short car ride away, thanks to the new mountain railway in the neighbouring municipality of Stuben. Take the opportunity to discover the cradle of skiing!

Nine lifts and a total of 31 kilometres of pistes offer skiing and rest stops, snowboarding and carver courses, as well as selected ski tours. The ski bus stops right in front of our hotel and will ferry you to the valley station in a matter of minutes. If you want to take your own car, you are sure to find a spot to leave it in the 1,000 or so parking spaces.

Ski-1127Arlberg – only 10 minutes to the largest connected skiing area in Austria!

In the form of the new cable car connecting Zürs and Stuben/Rauz we have come full circle: every destination, every place in the Arlberg skiing area can be easily, quickly and comfortably reached on skis – St. Anton and St. Christoph, Stuben, Zürs, Lech, Oberlech, Schröcken and Warth. This makes Ski Arlberg the largest connected skiing area in the whole of Austria. Thanks to the new cable car, winter sportspeople have at their disposal 305 km of ski slopes and 87 lifts and cable cars on the Arlberg. This guarantees an incredible dimension of skiing pleasure!

post-dalaas-klostertal-wandern.01Those looking for relaxation away from the piste and toboggan run will enjoy the alpine landscape on one of the three winter hiking trails in the Klostertal valley. At seven kilometres in length, the hiking trail to the summit cross on the Muttjöchle is one of the best winter hiking trails in the Sonnenkopf area. All hiking trails are equipped with cosy benches to rest on.

post-dalaas-klostertal-rodeln.01Several steep sections promise real tobogganing enjoyment over a total length of two kilometres. The toboggan run leads from the summit to the middle station and is the perfect conclusion to the offering on the Sonnenkopf. For pure chalet fun, make a stop at the Bündthütte. You’ll find a toboggan rental outlet right next to the valley station of the Sonnenkopf cableways.

Apart from classic sports such as skiing, snowshoe hiking or tobogganing, there is a wealth of other activities for you to enjoy when you stay with us.
